Salvador Dalí - The Elephants

Regular price £12.95

The Elephants is a 1948 painting by Spanish surrealist artist Salvador Dalí. The elephant is a recurring theme in Dalí's work. The Elephants in this work differs from the other paintings in that the animals are the focus of the work, with a sparse, graduated background and the lack of other content, where most of Dalí's paintings contain many details and landmarks.

Dream Caused by a Bee Flying Around a Pomegranate a Second Before Waking Up was painted in 1944 while Dalí and his wife Gala were living in America. It is an oil painting on wood, a 'hand-painted dream photo', as Dalí generally called his paintings.
