Salvador Dalí - Sleep

Regular price £12.95

In Sleep, Dali has recreated the kind of large, soft head and virtually non-existent body that were so common in his paintings around 1929. In this case, however, the face is certainly not a self-portrait. Sleep and dreams are in the realm of the unconscious par excellence and therefore of particular interest to psychoanalysts and surrealists.

Our customers favourite artwork

Dream Caused by a Bee Flying Around a Pomegranate a Second Before Waking Up was painted in 1944 while Dalí and his wife Gala were living in America. It is an oil painting on wood, a 'hand-painted dream photo', as Dalí generally called his paintings.
